Dental Crowns and Bridges

A large part of our work here with patients in midtown Sacramento is restorative dentistry.  We want to give you the smile you deserve.  And we have many ways to improve your smile!  For decades, Rosa Dental has had the pleasure of seeing happy clients with restored teeth and a new self-confidence as a result.

If you’ve lost one or more teeth, Dr. Rosa can bring back your smile with a  fixed bridge.  Instead of just filling in the gap, a fixed bridge can stop remaining teeth from moving.  It can also correct a bite that is misaligned, improving speech and appearance.  This bridge can last eight to ten years with proper care.  It is composed of one or more prosthetic teeth that can be attached on either side of teeth prepped with a dental crown.

A bonded bridge may be used to replace a single tooth.  The bridge consists of both a false tooth, called a pontic, and the wings that support the pontic.  The entire structure spans the space vacated by the missing tooth.  Neighboring tooth structure is allowed to remain the same and the wings of the bonded tooth are attached behind the neighboring teeth.

Crowns are a type of dental restoration which completely covers an implant or a tooth.

A fixed bridge is added to the crowned teeth and is made up of three parts:  the false tooth/teeth and two abutment crowns.  For patients without healthy abutment teeth, a dental implant may be able to help. However, patients who are replacing many teeth should consider a partial denture.
